My countrymen, when I think of the circumstances by which I came to this country and the hope I had invested in the dramatically marked difference in culture and its adherence to fairness and law, the hopeless and blind manner in which the already privileged and money-grabbing of our nation have figured to perpetuate the modern practice of profiting from the very people who have supported and since continued to hold faith in the ostensibly worker/peasant-majority-oriented philosophies of our historic leaders, I am only left to hold that we have not progressed.
It can only be that some of our luckier countrymen have decided to come to Australia because it benefits them and their families. However, in my experience, they have succeeded only in importing an inferior system of misfortune for the nameless amongst us. Our employer-compatriots see us still as fools. We work for no money and ask that they thank us for contributing to their privileged lifestyles. Who should we blame? Only ourselves. |
