SA will have perfect weather for Christmas, while the rest of the nation battles rain, floods, and heat.

In Adelaide, 32C is expected today Christmas Day, with fine weather continuing for a week.

On Boxing Day, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with an estimated high of 24C.

In Melbourne, a maximum of 28C with the possibility of showers is predicted for the Boxing Day Test between England and Australia.

Queensland's big wet has caused minor flooding of the Brisbane River. In large parts of the state's north the wet will drag on throughout the weekend.

Parts of far north Queensland have copped a drenching over the past few days and forecasters warn the state's entire east coast is in for more.

Three people died this month trying to cross flooded waterways, and 14 swift-water rescues have been recorded since mid-December.



Parts of Western Australia, such as Carnarvon in the south, have flooded due to large downpours.
